Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas (when you eventually get round to celebrating it)

and a self-indulgent, extravagant New Years Eve. 2008 will be our lucky year MikeMouse.

Sorry guys I had to go out for a while. Here's a quick (yeah right) explanation about the screenshots... these were captured over a 4 hour gaming session. I played using the Invisible Man skin (changed @ Phone Booth near Salieri's Restaurant). I called Golem (Phone Booth near Salieri Car Dealer). The 2 Detective Body Guards showed up for the war. I lured Golem to Salieri's Garage along with the Detective Lassiter gang. More souls to take... MUWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! (Thunder and lightning)
I sat back and watched the AI fight it out several times. After one group (good guys or bad guys) had won I restarted the savegame. Each time the outcome was different (even though I did exactly the same thing). Sometimes Golem got killed, other times Golem did most of the killing. But whenever the Lassiter gang got out of their car all Hell broke loose!
After 5 or 6 staged gun battles I killed Golem (Lupara to the chest) but not before he killed the China Town Detective Body Guard. Ralph and the West Marshall bridge Detective Body Guard killed 2 Detective Lassiter gang members (car jacked then executed them) then I burned the other 2 gang members alive with the Doghead Super Weapon.
I also fought the Lassiter gang a few times (hey I needed the practice). I actually captured over 2000 screenshots all up, but these were the ones I thought told the story the best.
So anyway I hopped in the Black Metal 4WD and had some fun with the Gun Turret. Trashed the Lassiter pretty bad, you'll see in the later screenshots with the 3 Body Guards. The gang members stole several cars during the chaos to give chase.
After I finished them off (with the Gun Turret) I decided to leave the Lassiter in bad shape. I could have easily used the Jumping Car function to repair it but the damage was amusing plus it still drove perfectly (d@mn those bullet-proof cars are really bullet-proof!)
I hired the Woman in the Red Dress Body Guard (East Marshall bridge) and the Gangster Body Guard (Guiliano bridge) then drove around in the trashed Lassiter startin' trouble with every cop car I saw. (I HATE cops!!!)
Switched ON VIP effects (at the Micro-Cars) cause I like pyrotechnics. The BIG explosions are from Terrorist's blowing up. 'He' showed up 4 or 5 times, each time I made the Body Guards "wait here" until I went and killed the Terrorist, hey 15 grand is 15 grand man!
Oh BTW, that screenshot on the 2nd set of pics (the one that just shows you a gap between two buildings) was taken not far from the Face Cave. To be precise it's along that road which leads from Salieri's Warehouse to the Stadium (Football Oval). If you notice on the radar there is a car in front of me. I was facing the car (you can see the opening between the buildings) but the car wasn't visible, at least not from the road side. Perhaps if you drive in (through that hole in the fence near the Stadium) you might find a car in there? But I doubt it. Maybe it's the extra Buick Body Guards hiding spot? Hehe.
You can have a lot of fun in the Central Island Tunnel. The dead Terrorist is a result of the Terranova bridge Car Dealer, he shot him so many times he eventually killed him. BTW I know the Terrorist is wearing his classic garb (white suit) but my $12,000,000 savegame has the Terrorist starting like that. If you travel over the city limits (Countryside Night etc.) the Terrorist will change his (or her) appearance. The scariest is when he becomes a "she". You're used to seeing 'men in suits' running toward you with dynamite, I guarantee you the woman is ambiguous. She blends in amongst the other female civilians better and she tends to surprise you. That's not bullsh1t, I'm being serious. Some Terrorists come out of nowhere and if you've been playing for a long time (and haven't saved your game) when it happens to you, you'll be spewing!
Hired the Super Body Guard "Priest" from the Church in DownTown. Caused anarchy for a few hours by initiating 6 or 7 "All Cops Alerted" police road blocks and ramming through them with the twisted Lassiter. Ramming through all of them, each and every single police road block, only to do it again and again...
I had a basic route which I followed: from Morello Car Dealer to Car Dealer at the Fire Service Pumping Station to Lucas Bertone. Driving from one end of the map to the other is helpful in that the "heat" will often cool down, you also set off another new Terrorist, and the game engine will clean up heavily littered areas (lots of exploded cars etc.) which reduces lagging. Hey lets face it when you have 35-50 exploded cars blocking a road it's difficult to make u-turns!
I played for a little over 4 hours, maybe 4 hours and 15 minutes but my hands were hurting (from all the bloody screenshots!) so I decided to go out kamikaze style. The Lassiter landed on its side when I smashed into a police road block on the Terranova bridge (hospital end - BTW I used Sarah several times too, she's a great Body Guard) and rather than get out of the car, switch on Super Speed and leave my crew behind, I used the Jumping Car function to ram a cop car off the bridge and into the water, regrettably while the Lassiter was indeed "repaired" we ended up in the drink. But you'll notice... that I landed softly onto the dockyard and slid the car safely into the water. Sure I lost health (and seemingly died) but that's because the Mafia game engine has a foregone conclusion, water = funeral. The truth is I had scuba gear with me. Me and my crew swam to the safely of the secret Casino at the bottom of the harbour... where we gambled happily ever after.
The End
The Alive Mod is the BEST Mafia mod.
And to my detractors (you know who you are) it's just like Morello says: "You're too small for me!"
